such a diverse group of writers! I don't see one single gay or predominantly black bar! What a joke!
150 best bars in New Orleans for straight white people...very diverse group of writers!
If every host were like missy w. There would be no issues.
I've only lived on St. Claude Ave. for 13 years but will say in my time here the change hasn't been as rapid as people tend to believe. I've seen a slow revitalization of an ever changing commercial corridor. I will say my feelings are pretty neutral on the current influx of younger people looking for opportunity. I was one of them 20 years ago.I will say I'm happy to see that the vast majority of businesses opening on St. Claude are small and pretty much all of them are owner operated and try to be good neighbors. Can't be too nostalgic about an abandoned falling down building that you use to buy hubigs pies from on your way home from school 50 years ago. the world will keep on spinning without you.
Unfortunately the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival is too bourgeois to come down to the AllWays.
Too dangerous for their patrons. If Tennessee were alive I have no doubt he'd be there. That's okay, we'll keep the fun to ourselves.
