I honestly don't get it. What's the advantage of staking out space on the parade route?
Ok. So I'm not a mid city resident but I'm certainly not a hater. Question is why don't mid city folks just walk down and view the the parades like normal folks? What's the need to camp out and reserve space all about?
I'm not sure I'd call that space "prime" lgd real estate. With traffic reversed to one way abruptly the block before it's a hard sell. That entire block is basically a revolving door of hopeful upscale retailers (food and otherwise) who quickly succumb to what I suspect is inflated real estate prices and lack of foot traffic. Best of luck to the new proprietors but I suspect that fancy pants warehouse district space (albeit much pricier) may be better environs for wine sippers.
