I am a Canadian who has lived and worked in Qingdao, China for the past twelve years. In 1984 I was the backstage 'Green Room' representative for the beautiful 'Rivers Club' under the Liggett and Myers Amphitheatre. I was there for almost every show, day and evening, retiring after the nightly fireworks extravaganza, during the six month run.
It was a summer the will always remain unforgettable in my mind.
I would love to know if anyone still has a program listing the absolutely amazing roster of talent scheduled during the World Fairs run? - From MC. Bert Parks, Bob Hopes 80th (three day taping) Birthday Special where a new sensation named David Letterman stole the thunder. Every major Rock and Roll, Country and Western, Rhythm and Blues and Pop sensation alive were also there! I doubt that any other major display of talent has graced America's stages in such as short period of time. It believe that it is well worth remembering and reviewing for posterities sake.
