So, when Mr. Coviello writes that Ms. Brite "wasn't looking to enter a new genre" when she wrote that bore, he is misleading at best.

I read "Lost Souls" in an effort to support her because she was a local writer. But the book was common and pandering, and convinced me that solidarity doesn't help when the writing bites.
