I’m 55 years old, and I also attended Holy Rosary from K through 3rd grade. My family lived on a one block long street called Picheloup Place between North Carrollton Avenue and Dumaine Street, and I had to cross that bridge many a times walking to get to school.

I'm just turning 53 this year, attended Holy Rosary for the first few years of schooling, grew up in the "hood" on Taft Place as a part of the "Gele" clan that owned the meat market on the corner of Dumaine and No. Hagan and have some fond memories of driving across that bridge as a passenger in the back seat of my grandfathers' Ford Fairlane, watching as he hogged the center of what could be hardly called a two-lane bridge, cussing the passing motorist the entire time in language hardly flattering of such an otherwise devoutly Catholic man.
I can also remember diving from that bridge as a pre-teen, cooling off from the sultry summer heat.
