      <![CDATA[I lived in Gueydan, LA, in 1943-45 as a pre-school child. I remember canvas-covered trucks driving south in mornings and north in late afternoons down a dusty road near my house.

      <![CDATA[Hello, I lived on Wadsworth Drive when WWII ended, my father was a full Lt. in the USCG; he was stationed at the Treasury Building on Canal Street and Bourbon Street. I would often meet him there to catch a ride home from from school (Warren Easton HS), also on Canal Street.

      <![CDATA[there was a pow camp in Hahnville (flaggville) located behind the courthouse. By 1947 when my family moved to the area there were prisoners there but they seemed to have freedom to leave when they wanted to.
