      <![CDATA[i moved to seattle for a year after katrina, and there were LOTS of nola expats there. the commenter lizzie is right about a lot of the 'culture' there, but since i hung out in the goth/punk subculture of cap hill, most of the people were from somewhere else and it was pretty fun.

      <![CDATA[I ditto Matt's comment. The Pacific NW seems seductive from afar, but trust us (and the editor of this fine publication) - the "Seattle freeze" (do a google if you want to know what that means), plus the passive aggressive culture, over the top hype, political complacency, homogeneity, and what I can only describe as fleece and hemp covered liberal hypocrisy/fascism and y'all will get a sense of how annoying the Pacific NW is.
