      <![CDATA[I wish I could be so willfully ignorant of facts--you know, like the fact that Detroit has churned out LOTS of unloved vehicles over the years, including many a gas-guzzler, like Ricardo Montalban's beloved Cordoba. _
    Or the fact that high-mileage vehicles from Japan, Germany, and elsewhere seem to do just fine in the US, provided they look good and are marketed well.
