      <![CDATA[The amount your average New Orleanians pay for both property and sales taxes is absurdly high for the amount of services this city delivers.<br>
<br>
That being said, the Rust Belt didn't decline because they spent to much money on the "needs of government." Their decline is rooted in their inability to keep up with industrial and economic changes.

      <![CDATA[The property tax increase is a terrible idea. Property taxes are already much higher here than anywhere else in the state, while we pay a state income tax and some of the highest sales taxes in the country.
