That's right- if you want good Pho, trek out to Chef Menteur off Alcée fortier and hit Dong Phuong, the great grandaddy of new orleanian vietnamese cuisine.

I appreciate the fact that it's easier to get Vietnamese food downtown these days, but ease of access doesn't always translate to decent food - I had one of the worst meals ever when Marigny Pho was at the Lost Love Lounge (think lukewarm, watery broth + tough, warmer-than-room-temperature spring rolls). Hopefully they'll get their act together when they make the move to Marie's.

Finding Vietnamese in the city, not just the Westbank and N.O. East, is not a new thing. Before the storm, Pho Tau Bay had a Fat City location, a lunch place across from Charity, and a spot in Mid-City, next to Brocato's.
