      <![CDATA[I think, though, that Saint Augustine is the oldest city in North America north of Mexico and that the oldest houses in the same region are in New Mexico. I could be wrong.

      <![CDATA[Well said, Lizzy. The architecture, the history, the strong French and Spanish (and so much more) influences --- all mix with the incredible diversity of our citizens to help create a unique American city, where we preserve and embrace (hopefully, yet perhaps ideally) the best of our past and heritage.

      <![CDATA[I think most people tend to label New Orleans as European because it holds its own culture, is walkable, honors its history and hasn't succumbed to modernization. These characterized much of America before World War II.
