      <![CDATA[I know Gambit strives to be the liberal voice of the New Orleans media but it really needs to get its facts right if it wishes to at least give the impression that it is trying to be unbiased. Author Jeremy Alford writes that Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory ecologist Terry Hazen “says reporters also continue to make the mistake of comparing the Gulf disaster to Alaska’s Exxon Valdez spill.”  Alford continues, “The best comparison, Hazen says, is the Ixtoc I spill, which occurred in 1979 in the Western Gulf.

      <![CDATA[Jeremy, great article, but here's one suggestion:<br>

you should follow up on the report by reporting to a wider audience the Slabbed blog's reporting on the Gauthier law firm - John Houghtaling in particular - being retained by BP (yes, BP) to the tune of well over one million dollars and hosting fundraisers (i.e. funnelling money) to Bobby Jindal, judges, Mitch Landrieu and Mary Landrieu.<br>
<br>
Slabbed even has the retainer letter.<br>
<br>
Take a look, you seem to have missed a much, much, much bigger story.<br>
