"Blake Pontchartrain" has been the laziest and least interesting feature of Gambit for years now, even before this latest plagiarism debacle: obviously made-up questions and dull, colorless answers. New Orleanians are, as a tribe, in thrall with their own history and mythologies; surely Gambit can do a better job of telling these stories.

The 365/24/7 "ALCOHOL", Drive Thru Daiquiri, Wine Bar, Tattoo Parlor Types, and "MARDI GRAS" atmosphere does NOT help one bit for companies to come to New Orleans.

If alcohols, festivals and so on did help, NOLA would not need to PAY COSTCO tens of millions.

Each had their own reasons for closing, however, business owners that are smart want paying customers, not EBT, Food Stamp or Section 8 customers...or low income minimum wage worker customers as there is not enough profit from sales to survive in HIGH COST OF LIVING NEW ORLEANS METRO AREA that has no jobs.

Also, many business owners see and hear many NOLA politicians cater to the poor, the homeless, the panhandlers, the certain race types and say, "Hey I can see what they are trying to do, but their are bigger issues at hand that politicians are not willing to say or do for fear of VOTES."

Just look at the COSTCO. The City practically financed 100% of that deal via straight funding and future sales tax credits.....Yes, that's how bad the city is in regards to crime and the types of people and the type of CULTURE that resides...

Alex, maybe you should have something against them, even though they "moored the neighborhood and all," you know. Booty's is a hipster theme restaurant with poor quality food.

Major disappointment. The Audubon people take a November festival with good food and a strong music line-up, move it to June, have the same kind of food as Midwestern state fairs (fried oreos?!), and obviously drop the quality of the booking.

What RfrancisR said. Without "Portlandia" there wouldn't be a "Sunken City", which in just about every way (writing, format, even casting) is trying much too hard to be a NOLAfied "Portlandia", and not quite hitting the mark.
