Asian Heritage Festival

The Audubon Zoo will have several dragons on display Saturday. In addition to its Komodo dragon from the Komodo Islands of Indonesia, a dragon longboat and dragon dances will be featured during the Asian Heritage Festival. The ornamental 41-foot wooden boat is new and will be raced in 2008. The Asian Pacific American society presents cultural demonstrations of music, dance, martial arts and more from countries including China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, India and the Philippines. There will also be an education tent, a children's tent with activities, Asian food and more. Free with regular zoo admission. -- Will Coviello
