Audubon Zoo reopening

All of the animals are safe and back at Audubon Zoo, except for the sea lions. They'll be back home soon once repairs are made to their habitat. Meanwhile, the zoo reopens free to the public on Thanksgiving weekend. Thereafter, the zoo will be open on Saturdays and Sundays, except for Dec. 24-25, and regular admission prices will apply. Everyone is invited to spend some time outdoors with their friends and family over the holiday. The Audubon Nature Institute has been working hard to restore all of its facilities -- including the badly hit Aquarium of the Americas, which is scheduled to reopen next summer. Audubon Park and Golf Course are already open and looking good. To contribute to the Audubon Relief Effort send a check to the Lincoln Park Zoological Society (Lincoln Park Zoo, P.O. Box 14903, Chicago, Ill. 60614), which is spearheading this fundraising effort. The zoo will for members only on Friday. --
