Back to the Beach Festival

The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation sponsors the annual Back to the Beach Festival, highlighting recreation at the lakefront and recalling the old Pontchartrain Beach, which had a manmade beach and amusement rides like the Zephyr roller coaster. The festival features a fun run/walk along the lakefront, a classic car show and three days of live music. The band lineup includes Rockin' Dopsie & the Zydeco Twisters, the Soul Rebels, Bobby Cure & the Summertime Blues, the Benjy Davis Project, Bag of Donuts, the Topcats, the Bucktown All-Stars and others. Tickets $8 adults, $4 children 12-under. — Will Coviello
