Owen Ashworth's unfortunately-yet-appropriately named keyboard choir reached its zenith with 2009's Vs. Children (Tomlab), a lo-fi, high-drama oblique concept album about the hidden price of conception set to a MIDI symphony of soft rock-a-bye tones and crushingly brushed-off vocals. The Chicagoan's songs, like his subjects, often expire too soon. Magical Beautiful opens. Admission $5.
