Checkmate!
Gambit Weekly picked up a first-place award for excellence in Chess Writing from the Chess Journalists of America (CJA) recently for "Getting Back in the Game" (Oct. 3, 2006) by former Gambit editor Michael Tisserand. The story was entered in the "mainstream media" category and was selected over entries from such prestigious national publications as Scientific American and the Los Angeles Times.
