Chris Rose: The A**Hole Monologues

To some locals, Pulitzer Prize-nominee, voice of post-Katrina New Orleans and longtime Times-Picayune columnist Chris Rose (pictured) is "the a**hole guy." Ever since Rose and comedian Fred "Redbean" Plunkett Jr. satirized Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues with their own scatological opus, The A**Hole Monologues, people have approached Rose with their own firsthand accounts. "I am just the vessel," he says. "I collect their stories." Apparently stories are like a**holes: everyone has one. And Rose has been only too happy to incorporate the best of them with his own in ever-changing performances. Some anecdotes are always in the show, such as the "No. 2 pencils at Charity Hospital" bit, but there's always new material. Rose and Redbean take the Monologues on a 10th anniversary and, they promise, farewell tour. Call 352-2535 for reservations. — Will Coviello
