NEW VOTE ON EXPANDED CURFEW FEB. 2
The New Orleans City Council has delayed a vote on a proposed citywide curfew extension that would make it illegal for unaccompanied children to be out past 8 p.m. every night of the week. The council passed a similar curfew extension earlier this month, which applied only to the French Quarter and a portion of Faubourg Marigny.
The proposal for a citywide extension came after criticism that the original curfew ordinance didn't include residential neighborhoods with more serious crime problems. The new ordinance is scheduled for a vote Feb. 2. — Charles Maldonado
