Clint Maedgen Trio

The amazingly prolific downtown artist Clint Maedgen keeps multiple projects going like so many spinning plates, from the bohemian art-rock cabaret The New Orleans Bingo! Show to guest vocal and horn work with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to a clutch of solo projects " which has included, among other things, a surprisingly sincere and fresh-sounding Beatles cover set. Tuesday's one-off project intertwines his own formidable vocal talents, which range from angelic to earthy with Prince-like range, with those of the versatile jazz singer Sacha Masakowski, backed by a violin and cello. Maedgen's own arsenal of noisemakers " saxophone, thrift-shop toys and half-filled soda bottles among them " fill out the sound. (He'll also be appearing with Bingo! for their last show of this season Friday evening at Tipitina's, as part of the club's Free Fridays concert series.) Tickets $7 general admission, $6 students and seniors, $5 Zeitgeist members. — Alison Fensterstock
