A June 2 news item about the appearance of several New Orleans Saints football players, including quarterback Drew Brees, at the Louisiana Legislature May 27 misstated some facts about House Bill 1069, which dealt with worker compensation regulations for professional athletes. The intent of the bill was to clarify the definition of "average weekly wages" at the time of an employee/player's injury for purposes of workers' compensation benefits. Though Saints players were meeting with members of the state House of Representatives, the bill had cleared the House already and was deferred in the Senate before the team's arrival in Baton Rouge. Gambit regrets the errors.
