Deep South by Suroeste at the Contemporary Arts Center

Sat. July 28 | El Gallo, a raunchy comedy about a Mexican man and his magical cockfighting rooster, headlines a showcase of short films by Latino-American filmmakers, most of them based in Austin, Texas. There are a couple of Cannes Film Festival selections and the topics range from a schizophrenic street performer struggling for attention to a woman defending her family from Mexican drug cartel extortionists. At the Contemporary Arts Center.
