Dat Dog on Magazine Street (3336 Magazine St., 504-324-2226; www.datdognola.com) hosts a five-course dinner pairing sausages and beer Thursday, Oct. 24. Each round features a sausage and a beer (no dessert) and it starts with New Castle Werewolf with the Bacon Werewolf special, a Slovenian sausage topped with bacon, grilled onions, sauerkraut, dill relish, tomatoes and Creole mustard. Harpoon Oktoberfest beer is served with a duck and pork sausage topped with bacon, hot blackberry sauce, barbecue sauce and mustard. New Belgium Pumpkick comes with a smoked apple and sage veggie dog with butternut squash puree and other toppings. The dinner costs $30 and reservations are recommended.
