Eagles of Death Metal 

It's tough to believe the Eagles of Death Metal have lasted a decade. It's one of those goofy hard-rock bands that seems to have so much fun being a goofy hard-rock band that it seems like some kind of parody. Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes formed it in the deserts of Southern California in 1998. Along with occasional New Orleanian Dave Catching, the band pushes the celebration guitar kicks and pumping devil-horn fists in the air to such a degree it lands, just by a hair extender, on the sincere side of meta-something or other. We defy you not to headbang. Opening is Duke Spirit, a British import with a great affinity for fuzzed-out, punked-up American roots music in the tradition of the Gun Club and the Bad Seeds. Tickets $18 in advance, $20 at the door. — Alison Fensterstock
