She has been the ruler of our hearts for four decades now, so Irma Thomas has always felt like the mother of all New Orleans soul singers. (They don't call her the Soul Queen of New Orleans for nothing.) As she proved yet again during her recent Jazz Fest set on the Acura Stage, Thomas still has it after all these years, which makes this Mother's Day tradition so endearing and dynamic. She will be joined by Johnette Downing and the Savoy Family Band before her own set, while attendees are invited to enjoy trinkets from vendors, artisans selling jewelry and more. Best of all: Moms get in free. Other admission: $12 adults, $9 seniors, $7 kids ages 2-12.
