Manhattan Piano Trio The music department at the University of New Orleans presents a concert by the Manhattan Piano Trio, which has recently been recognized as one of the most "versatile and exciting classical ensembles" to come out of New York City. The trio is comprised of violinist Dmitry Lukin, cellist Dmitry Kouzov -- both of Russian origin -- and pianist Milana Bahl, who is originally from the former Soviet state of Moldova and is the ensemble's founding member. All three of these musicians have firsthand experience with tragedy, war and catastrophe and have found peace and healing in music. Therefore, when they joined forces near Juilliard in 2004, they made it their mission to console and heal their audiences through musical harmony. They have prepared an evening of compositions by Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich. These pieces range from solos to trios, and cover different musical periods and styles, including jazz. Tickets $15 general admission, $10 UNO community, $5 seniors and students with I.D. -- Katie Walenter
