Feed the Multitudes 

Victory Fellowship celebrates Independence Day with its 19th annual 'Feed the Multitudes" event. Together with co-sponsors Convoy of Hope and the Salvation Army, the Fellowship invites the community to eat and enjoy the Fourth at City Park's Marconi Meadows. There will be free food including barbecue chicken, jambalaya and more, as well as musical performances in English and Spanish, skits and dance groups. There also will be games and activities like waterslides and Space Walks for kids. Feed the Multitudes also offers free health screenings, haircuts and giveaways like clothes and bags of groceries, courtesy of Convoy of Hope. Victory Fellowship's program director Debra Hoffman says the event grows every year. Roughly 5,000 people attended last year, partaking of the picnic's '8,000 pieces of chicken, 5,000 hot dogs, and 3,500 portions of jambalaya," she says.
