Flashdance at Mahalia Jackson Theater

Feb 26-Mar 3 | In Jerry Bruckheimer's 1983 film Flashdance, a young welder aspires to become a professional dancer, and many of the scenes were filmed like music videos. It was panned by critics but very popular at the box office. The stage musical version launched in Britain in 2008 was a hit, and the American touring version picks up on the big dance numbers featuring the movie's hits ("Maniac," "Flashdance — What a Feeling," "Gloria"), but trims the plot.
