Getting the Worm
Le Parvenu (509 Williams Blvd., Kenner, 471-0534) now offers an early bird
special to diners who chirp between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
The $18.75 price tag includes a glass of wine and three courses. In September,

at a ceremony in Seattle, Wash. Chef-owner Dennis Hutley is also a collaborating

Generating Excitement
John Mariani, food critic for Esquire magazine and frequent man-about-New
Orleans, included Rene Bistrot (817 Common St., 412-2580) on his annual
list of 20 restaurants and chefs who have created excitement in the food world.
After leaving the Windsor Court Hotel's Grill Room (300 Gravier
St., 522-1992), Chef Rene Bajeux opened the restaurant last fall in the
casual style of a truly French bistro, serving dishes like cassoulet, salsify
in brown butter and rabbit stew. Look for the article in November's Esquire.

item of women's or children's clothing to be donated to Crescent House.
