B.Y.O.Menu The French Quarter café eat New Orleans (900 Dumaine St., 522-7222; www.eatnola.com) will host a special dinner this Thursday, Oct. 18, benefiting the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (www.southernfood.org), the nonprofit culinary group that plans to open a permanent exhibit space in the Warehouse District. Chef Jared Zeringue will serve a Cajun- and Southern-style four-course meal for $50 per person with 25 percent of proceeds benefiting the museum. The restaurant is BYOB, and for Thursday's special dinner guests are also encouraged to bring menus they may have stashed away from their favorite Southern restaurants to donate to the museum's ongoing collection. "The Place" for Panini Il Posto Italian Café (4607 Dryades St., 895-2620; www.ilpostocafe-nola.com) is a new, pretty Uptown spot tucked behind Sacred Heart Academy specializing in panini, Italian cheese boards and antipasti plates. The café was opened earlier this month by New Orleans native Madison Curry , who worked in New York City restaurants and cafés for 12 years before moving home to start her own venture. The space had been a yoga studio for a few years but now looks like the very picture of an upscale neighborhood deli and coffee shop. Il Posto serves H&H-brand bagels, granola and pastries in the morning, and the lunch and early dinner menu also includes soup, salads and an assortment of tramazini, which resemble English tea sandwiches. The café has applied for a license to serve beer and wine and for now allows BYOB with a $5 corkage fee. Il Posto is closed Mondays. Pizza with a Purpose Founded last year by health and nutrition writer Jeff Leach (www.jeffleach.org) and his business partners, the take-out shop World's Healthiest Pizza (6307 S. Miro St., 865-0224; www.worldshealthiestpizza.com) raised some eyebrows with its unorthodox approach to one of the country's most popular foods and the boast inherent in its name. The fiber-rich crust of their pizza is made from at least 10 different grains. The restaurant's boxes were covered with more health information than some people want to encounter during a meal. That box-top advocacy has been toned down some (a recent box carried the simple message "you'll thank us in the morning"), but Leach and crew are no less ambitious in building their business. Earlier this month, they opened a second shop, this time in the Riverbend (8120 Hampson St., 865-0221) and directly across from a more conventional pizza shop, Pepperoni's Café (8123 Hampson St., 865-0336). In addition to fiber-rich pizzas, the new shop also serves pies with gluten-free crusts, vegan pizzas with soy cheese and "take-and-bake" uncooked pies to prepare at home.
