Healthy, by Straw or Fork
A new breakfast and lunch spot has opened in the Bywater at the former Coffea address, and its menu runs heavily toward fresh vegetables and fruit juices. Satsuma Cafe (3218 Dauphine St., 304-5962) has the same eclectic feel of Coffea, but the focus is on ciabatta sandwiches and salads mixing hearty raw ingredients such as rainbow chard, fennel and arugula. Wash it down with coffee, carrot and beet juice or a wheatgrass shot. Satsuma is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day except Tuesday.
The owners of Byblos Middle Eastern restaurants plan to open a new seafood eatery on Magazine Street this fall in the space previously occupied by Semolina's Bistro Italia. 3 of a Kind Restaurant Group took over the prominent spot at 3226 Magazine St., just a few doors down from their Uptown Byblos location. The new venture, tentatively called Catch, will serve boiled seasonal Louisiana seafood.
