Grants for the Louisiana Tumor Registry

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently gave the Louisiana Tumor Registry a three-year, $794,000 grant. It will allow the registry at LSU Health Sciences Center to develop a system that efficiently reports children's cancers by linking pathology laboratories, state pediatric organizations, doctors, hospitals and birth records. According to LSU, this brings total federal grant money awarded to the tumor registry to $3.5 million a year.
