When I was in college in the 1970s, there was a sandwich shop on Melpomene Street behind the former wedding shop that was on the corner of the river side of St. Charles Avenue. Do you remember the name of the place?

Dear Howard,
The place you remember was called The Deli and sold pizza, sandwiches and other food. It opened around 1974 at 1534 Melpomene St. near the Town & Country bridal salon and the Trousseau Shop on St. Charles Avenue. It closed about 10 years later.
