Houston Ballet

The internationally acclaimed Houston Ballet kicks off the New Orleans Ballet Association's 2006-07 season with a program combining classical music and vibrant contemporary movement and some popular songs as well. The program features Orange, choreographed by Stanton Welch and set to Vivaldi, as well as the first movement of Three Preludes by Ben Stevenson, which is performed to Rachmaninoff. The final piece, Rooster, is set to eight classic Rolling Stones hits. Considered one of the top dance companies in the nation, the Houston Ballet returns to New Orleans for the first time in a decade. Tickets $30-$80. -- Will Coviello
