How can I get an MRI if I’m claustrophobic?

Believe it or not, you can comfortably have an MRI even if you have a fear of small spaces, because the East Jefferson Imaging Center has the only High Field Open MRI in the region. This advanced system accommodates those who are either claustrophobic or too large for a closed system. Our 1.OT High–field open MR offers superb image quality that, until now, has only been available with closed systems. The flared opening and large diameter are designed to help reduce claustrophobia.

If you would like to schedule an MRI, please call the East Jefferson Imaging Center at 504-885-4223. If you are claustrophobic, please inform the Imaging Center staff when you schedule your appointment.
