Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band
A Dylanesque figure in Idaho (where he was born) and Ireland (where he had his own tribute band, Cork), singer/songwriter and author Josh Ritter writes elegant, elegiac piano and guitar ballads that meld unblemished pop and literate, well-traveled lyrics a la Paul Simon. Smooth-sanded LP So Runs the World Away (Pytheas), Ritter’s seventh overall, arrived in May 2010. Joe Pug opens. Tickets $13 in advance, $15 at the door. 9 p.m. Tuesday.
