Brian Peterson is ready for his cameo. Or rather, his big show. Taking cues from Le Chat's 2005 tribute
My O My, Peterson created
Just Sing to pay homage to cabaret and Broadway standards. Some local theatergoers may be familiar with Peterson's recurring and irrepressible Molly Brownstein, last seen in Running With Scissors' run of
The Titanic Adventures of the Love Boat Poseidon, who's always aching to steal the show with a musical number while channeling Barbra Streisand. Now he's blond-vamp, alter-ego Sadie Shepherd, performing with musical collaborator Ant (Anthony Sears). The show includes tunes from the Carpenters ("Sing"), Barbra Streisand ("On Rainy Afternoons"), selections from the off-Broadway musicals
When Pigs Fly,
The Fantasticks and "Tenderly" from
My O My. Peterson is a two-time Big Easy Award winner. The Mystic Krewe of Satyricon is sponsoring the opening night show. Call 525-4498 for tickets to that show only. Tickets $25 Satyricon opening night, $26 other nights (includes $5 bar credit) --Ê
