Martina Navratilova vs. Monica Seles

Two of the biggest names in women's pro tennis square off in an exhibition match to benefit area children and charities. Following the game, Theresa Andersson will play a few sets of her own. Martina Navratilova dominated women's tennis during a seven-year reign as the top-ranked player in the world. She collected nine Wimbledon singles titles, 18 Grand Slam singles titles and 40 Grand Slam doubles titles. Monica Seles (pictured) was born the year Martina joined the pro tour but she caught up in stature. Seles was the top-ranked women's player in 1991 and 1992 and has won nine Grand Slam singles titles. The exhibition caps a week of tennis events including a USTA-approved men's professional tournament event held at UNO and a youth day offering tennis camps and other activities. Proceeds will benefit NORD, the American Cancer Society and and the Recovery School District. See the Web site www.covingtonprotennis.com for more information. Tickets $30-$100. -- Will Coviello
