"Your argument, I guess, could be that it's a little less convenient to have to carry two 16-ounce drinks to your seat in the movie theater rather than one 32-ounce."

— New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, proposing a ban on the sale of sodas and sugared drinks larger than 16 ounces in the city's restaurants, movie theaters and other venues. The ban, which would take place next year, would not affect diet sodas, unsweetened iced teas or milkshakes, nor would it stop consumers from buying larger-sized containers of drinks at grocery stores. The New York Times reported that Bloomberg "suggested that restaurants could simply charge more for smaller drinks if their sales were to drop."
