In February, Gov. Bobby Jindal presented the first "Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence" to the Robertson family — founders of the northeast Louisiana company Duck Commander and stars of the A&E reality-flavored favorite Duck Dynasty — and that award presentation will be one of the centerpieces of the show's Season 6 debut June 11.
Now Jindal has presented a second Louisiana company with the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, according to a press release from the governor's office. It goes to Iberia Parish's Metal Shark Aluminum Boats, which is "a leading supplier of welded aluminum boats for commercial, defense, and law enforcement applications worldwide," according to the company's website. (That company does not have a reality TV show.)
Though both New Orleans and Baton Rouge have well-established Entrepreneur Weeks, Jindal's awards have thus far gone to firms in areas where he's more popular: north Louisiana and Cajun country.
