The brash and boozy Morning 40 Federation rings in the New Year the way only those beloved Bywater ne'er-do-wells can " with plenty of brass, sleaze, off-color antics and probably at least one spilled drink. The group combines loud horns and fuzzy guitar with lyrics that celebrate the seamy side of New Orleans life and are the very model of loveable drunkards. On a regular night, their revelry and troublemaking can run rampant till the wee hours, so one can only imagine what tricks they'll pull out to ring in 2008. The band is joined by Little Freddie King, the raw blues guitarist whose real-deal gutbucket playing is as serious as a heart attack. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
