Specialty pizza shop Magazine Pizza (1068 Magazine St., 504-568-0212; www.magazinepizza.com) will open a second location in Mid-City this month, its owner confirmed Nov. 6.
Owner Gokmen Guler said after light renovation he hopes to open by the end of November in the space formerly occupied by Yang's Po-Boy's (4840 Bienville St.).
Guler, who owns the restaurant with business partner Murat Gundogdu, opened the first Magazine Pizza two years ago on the 1000 block of Magazine Street.
He said customer favorites include the Margherita, Aphrodisiac and Hangover pizzas.
This won't be the first time the Mid-City space is occupied by a pizza joint. It's the same building where the Original Italian Pie got its start, which now has many locations across the city and several states.
Magazine Pizza sent a Twitter message Nov. 6 stating it was hiring at the Mid-City location.
