Old Algiers RiverFest 

Gear up for the festival season at the third annual Old Algiers RiverFest by enjoying some food and music out in sun. The festivities begin at noon at the Algiers ferry landing with a second-line parade led by the Mohawk Hunters Mardi Gras Indians. The afternoon features performances by Irvin Mayfield and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Dr. Michael White and the Liberty Brass Band, Shades of Praise Interracial Gospel Choir, the Algiers Brass Band and the Panorama Jazz Band. Food, craft vendors and children's entertainment will be set up on the grounds of the Old Algiers Courthouse. Free admission. -- Will Coviello
