PAR lege guide: Now a free app

Available for iPhone or Android

The Public Affairs Research Council's (PAR's) popular Guide to the Legislature is now available as a free mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The annual guide has been printed for decades (the 2014 print edition is already sold out) and is a must for regular observers of the state's legislative process.

In addition to biographical and political information about state lawmakers, the guide also contains useful information about legislative staffers, committees, U.S. reps and senators, statewide officials, pending constitutional amendments and a helpful guide to citizens' rights under Louisiana's public records and open meetings laws.

The 2014 version of the mobile app is downloadable by searching "PAR Guide" at the Apple or Google app stores on smartphones. The app will be updated regularly throughout the year with news and commentary from the Public Affairs Research Council, which is a nonpartisan, nonprofit public policy research organization.

Louisiana-based software developer hSoft Consulting developed the PAR app, which was underwritten by Ochsner Health System.
