In the Kingdom of Do, there once lived a lonely dog named Poona. Nobody would be friends with Poona — until one day when Fairy God Phallus brought her a big, pink box. If Jeff Goode's play Poona in any way resembles cheery children's theater, it won't look that way for long. In her travels, Poona makes many new friends, including a television king and Prince Handsome, who only wants Poona's big, pink box. "This show is not for the easily offended," director Kate Kuen says. "Everything is sort of sweet and innocent until you take a closer look and see all of the naughty, hidden images." As an adult drama, it is a humorous device for Goode's twisted examination of contemporary values. Kuen directs A.J. Allegra, Pete McElligott, Claire Gresham, Alex Martinez Wallace, Richard Alexander Pomes, Michael Aaron Santos, Kyle Hebert and Eli Grove. Tickets $15 general admission, $10 students. — Bryan Davis
