If you're aiming to out-weird Quintron & Miss Pussycat — at their crimson-and-clover iniquity den of One Eyed Jacks, on the madness commencement that is Lundi Gras — you'd better come armed to the teeth with the bizarre. We're talking cacophonous, hedonistic, macro-processor tribal worship. Abstract, night-glo projections that flicker and pop on the walls like acid-washed 1080p cave paintings. A king cobra playing a saxophone and a man-fly for a frontman? Hey, it can't hurt. Ice Balloons is the act in question, and if there's a logical answer, no one has found it yet. Straight out of the dankest basements in Brooklyn comes this new noise-art curiosity, billed misleadingly as a TV on the Radio side project due to the involvement of Kyp Malone, whose clarity-focused recent direction with his primary gig may explain the occasional desire to lose one's shirt and beat a drum around a bloody bonfire or thrash about barefoot on Fort Tilden Beach wearing a New Orleans Saints T-shirt, cutoffs and a bug mask. On second thought, they'll fit right in here. Dry Heeves and DJs Lady Red, Vashti Windish and 9ris 9ris open. Tickets $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
