Jindal truly want to make Louisiana a great place to live and raise a family rather than merely a colorful tourist attraction and the object of catastrophe-induced pity, the Legislature must repeal this law." — Dr. Barbara Forrest, writing of SB 70, the bill that would repeal the Louisiana Science Education Act (LSEA). The LSEA allows the use of "supplementary" materials in high school biology classes, which critics say opens the door to the teaching of creationism in public schools. On May 26, the Senate Education Committee killed the repeal measure. The lone vote in support of repealing LSEA came from Sen. Yvonne Dorsey, D-Baton Rouge.
