When you consider the group's two French Quarter restaurants, Bacco and the Red Fish Grill, Ralph's on the Park near the gates of City Park, and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, Calif. " the locations are indeed varied and unique.
Although they may not know about the group's three-floor, 450-seat restaurant at Disney, Williamson says she's sure New Orleanians would feel right at home there. 'The architecture and design mimics what you would find in the French Quarter, and there is live jazz nightly," she says.
Beyond the real estate the restaurants occupy, it's the people they employ and the food they serve " using products indigenous to New Orleans prepared with an innovative twist " that set them apart, Williamson says. She describes the offerings at the Red Fish Grill as 'classic New Orleans seafood (with) bold flavors," the cuisine at Bacco as Italian with a 'Creole twist," and the menu at Ralph's on the Park as 'contemporary Creole."
Through Aug. 31, customers can enjoy a three-course meal for $25 at Bacco (310 Chartres St., 522-2426) and Red Fish Grill (115 Bourbon St., 598-1200). Bacco's 'Ciao Down at Sundown" dinner menu is available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and includes three choices each for appetizers, entrées " lobster ravioli, barbecue shrimp or roasted chicken stracci and dessert. Red Fish Grill's 'Grillin' and Chillin'" menu is available for dinner all night, 'But the trick is, you have to ask for the special menu," Williamson says. Through September at Ralph's on the Park (900 City Park Ave., 488-1000), you can get three appetizers and a glass of wine for $28.
Ralph's on the Park also will host three special dinners " Aug. 20, Sept. 17 and Oct. 22 " featuring dishes from Ralph Brennan's New Orleans Seafood Cookbook, which was released earlier this year. Diners will enjoy a four-course meal paired with wine (except for the Aug. 20 dinner, which will be paired with Abita beers) for $65, or pay $100 and also receive a personalized, signed copy of the cookbook.
