Reckdahl Honored for 'Indefatigable Reporting'
"Reckdahl's series of strong reports show that the juvenile justice system in Louisiana needs more accountability for how it treats young offenders," wrote the judges in their commendation. "Her indefatigable reporting is the series' strength."
Previously, Reckdahl's writing on the topic of juvenile justice earned her top honors from the national Association of Alternative Newsweeklies and the Press Club of New Orleans. She also received the Media Award for 2001 from the Mental Health Association in Metropolitan New Orleans.

Casey Foundation and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Reckdahl and other Casey Medal winners will be honored at an awards luncheon in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 1.
